Those blades seem pretty fragile, Doesn't this one fly into hurricanes?  :headscratch:

Yeah hurricanes can reach wind speeds up to 200mph. It exceeds well the operating speed of the plane which is.. waitamineet!  :bhead

How fast would you think hurricane winds get 'around the eye'? If the plane is going to experience any trouble whatsoever it's going to be from lightning strikes and heavy turbulence.

Overall windspeed doesn't matter because once airborne the plane is part of the moving mass of air.  Wind shear and gusts would be of concern, but not '200 mph winds'.

FYI you have to fly through it to get to the eye.

That unit is stationed in St. Croix every Hurricane season.I was a bartender at the hotel they stayed at a few years back.They are a great group of guys doing very important work.  :salute
