You'd be wrong.     The "Hemi" is not as durable, nor even remotely close to "THE Hemi's".    The ones nowadays have shoddy oil pans, this problem is also present in their "2/3/4/5.7 Garbage lineup".    I've driven the SRT8 from Livonia, MI to Naples, FL (umm, it was hopped up) when I worked for Roush.    I got to take it on a track down there and it's handling is horrid (a lot worse than a Mustang, or Camaro).    The Camaro handles the best of the three and I'm usually a Ford guy.

As for the Engines, ask CAP he works on and I dealt with them.   The Dodge customers deserve better and it's a damn shame.

bolded........fully agree. dodge used to be a name to be feared on the race tracks, moreso i think than ford or chevy. dodge, while they've got some cool looking cars, has really really let their customers down.

i got a question for you........i've not been able to find a lot of techy stuff on the new 5 liter. from pictures i see, it looks to me to be a "Y" block, rather than a "V"?
if so, this i think would be a partial explanation as to how that engine can take nearly 13psi of boost without major modifications. i've not been able to find anything concerning the heads either.
there's a local racer here that has trouble not lifting the heads off of the OHV 5 liters when he dumps massive boost on them, but he runs turbos though, rather than superchargers.

i think i should also add.......many of my "disparaging" remarks about the chevys and dodges, are in a bit of humor.
i love ALL of these muscle/pony cars. i just have always loved fords, and they're almost always just a little out front for me.  :aok

Getting close to finishing a 1967 fastback with a 428 (lemans heads on a high nickel c7mea casting block) topped with a 427 medium riser intake in front of a top loader 4 speed.

Replaced the roof, all floors, cowl, both rear quarters, rear taillight fascia...etc.

Found that ford soldered a lot of it together but I brazed instead as well as used some connectors on the underside.

Hemi?

Here's a double overhead cam hemi.

Year?....1920.....or earlier and some had 4 valves per cylinder.

Interestingly, the company who came up with this engine was bought out by Hispano-Suiza.
