War status list
« on: April 20, 2011, 10:25:04 AM »
I wish to be able to double clic on a particular base in the war status list and it center the map on it. Would make searching for a particular field# much easier. Of course keep the CV hidden.

Or at least explain me the logic behind base number assignement because they dont seem too straight forward to me...

Sounds good to me. :old:
I've only been online for four months and often it takes me a bit of searching to find the base that someone has called out.
I thought about using an Excel spreadsheet to use for each terrain. The base numbers in the first column followed by its grid numbers. But after trying it out on the ndisles terrain, I realize that it could be a rather laborious task on some of the terrains.

I know about the move command.
I was thinking along the lines of just seeing where it is on the map without going there. For instance, if I was inflight at the time and wanted to see the situation at that base.

I believe it is possible to right click on "any" field and select 'AXX fields' status. Once that comes up, on the left side is a complete listing of ALL fields.  Simply scroll up or down to that field and click on it.

Wax on Wax off, Grasshopper.

EDIT: Doing it that way will not "Center" the field but it is highlighted "White". You can then rapidly locate it on the map.

That doesn't center the map on it. You still have to search for it.

I just edited my post, that is true.  But as I stated, it does turn it white....for easy recognition.

Doesn't this work for Task Groups now?

If so, it is possible, so why not?

I used the Trinity map to try out what you said.

I found that it was easier to find if I zoomed back all the way, turned off the icons and just left the base name. It stood out more and was easier for me to find that way.

Grasshopper thanks you Master Po.  :aok

But I still wish it would center it.   :old:

Centering it would be a great idea.  Now, when I tested it, I left the names and dar, elevations-all on.  It's stood out well enough for me...to just slide the map back and forth, up and down then I located it. The Base, the Name, the elevation numbers all turned White.  Still, maybe the reason it doesn't move, is because it would locate CVs....and that would be counterproductive.

totally agree with you about it locating CV's, but maybe with a few extra lines of code it would exclude centering on them.
