I remember doing a comparison on the 3 when they were fresh.
This video sums it up. (NOTE: I'm a dodge guy.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o3p8fZZQM8

that video just shows how much dodge is dropping the ball. back before a lot of you were born(sheesh that makes me feel old), dodge could, and did easily spank both ford and gm. everywhere.
yet, here's the gt walking away from the camaro, which is walking away from the dodge...........so sad.

on that note, i had a guy in a 4th gen mustang messing with me on the way home from work yesterday. it would've been more fun if it was a gt, but it was only a 6 cylinder.
i let him stay fender to fender at the first light. we got to the next light, and the dork spun his hat around backwards. so what did i do? in all of my infinite wisdom?
i goosed the throttle, and when he looked over, i spun my hat 'round backwards, and smiled at him. when the light went green, i let him stay close, but not out front.
the third light was his wakeup call. i could see he loaded the converter......but i didn't hold back that time. i was sitting at the next light flipping the radio stations when he came up behind me. funny thing is that he could've pulled up next to me again.
i guess he got the hint.  :devil

oh yea.........convertible vs convertible........is anyone gonna be shocked at the outcome?  :devil

Oh man classics are the best.

First "older" car I really fell in love with was my dad's 1973 Pontiac Sprint Ventura

lol They should turn off traction control on the camaro. It does slow it down quite a bit on take-off.

Bring ya ass!  I have a buddy that runs a drag strip, or we can go down the vacant highway (it's straight as an arrow for over a mile! and it's rarely used)

perhaps we could hear what our two foremost experts on ford and chevy have to say.  if voss (ford) and challenge (chevy) could clear thsi up for us, we would all be most appreciative.  perhaps skyrock could give details regarding mopar's achievements.

The stang squealed the tire so I imagine TC was off.

The camaro will just melt the tires when it is off and not launched correctly.

There are actually 2 controls on.... one keeps the tires from breaking loose and the other keeps it from fishtailing.

WITH the exception of  the video with all three of em smoking their tires, i think the traction control was/is on.

generally, the traction control will let em break lose momentarily, then stop it.

i just re-watched it. you can't tell which one or if or not both are squealing the tires, due to the angle.

face it....if you want a fast chevy, you gots ta buy a corvette.  :devil :noid

Corvettes are on the downswing right now. Many former vette owners are moving to the camaro. GM even moved some of the better known vette techs over to the camaro line.

At the last Corvette and Chevy Expo at George R Brown convention center, one of our member camaros was the most powerful vehicle in the building.
