So, I've noticed a disturbing trend....
Three times tonight, 1v1 co alt (to be entirely honest, one of them I started 2k higher but dove down co alt 5 out) , I engaged enemy cons in my ride of choice, 190a5, and all three times, without even bothering to fight,  all of them would dive, on average 10k, down to the deck and raced anywhere from 1/2 a sector to a full sector to drag me through field ack.
I mean yes I understand ack dragging when sides are stacked and its more then 1v1....but when there r so few on, and flight times are rather long...it just takes the point of the game away.
 
I fight agressively, I rarely run in a healthy bird, I take on the horde, and even if it spells my demise, I fight the good fight...is it expecting to much to want the same?

Hidden within my p/oed rant I ask a simple question, is running to ack at the first hint of an enemy with skill the key to ranking up, or a better k/d ratio? all 3 that did this (in fairly relative sucesstion) were in no way noobs...and all 3 had higher k/d then myself, (1.1 but as I said I prefer a fun fight even if I know I stand no chance)...if thats the secret to ranking up as a fighter pilot please let me know, at least then ill know to expect it and use it.

  Kriskros (sry for spelling), hell of a fight man. Typh v a5 from 12k to tree top fight was great. Speeds in excess of 400mph,  Riding stalls Through many acm, avoiding trees at the bottom of our loops....thats what its all about.

What you have to do is ensure you conserve enough E so when the time comes for the them to hit the deck you have enough E to run them down and force them to turn. Force your game on the opponent rather than expect him to change how he plays, you will find guys that will fight you but not everyone flys that way, if you have the E to run them down before they get to the ack theres little they can do about it.

Oh yea,  if I could catch them before they hit ack, they either turn, are blown away, or fight. And on average it, is not hard to catch them, ironically all three times tonight I was just at d600 from them when ack holed my radiator and/or oil or took a wing (managed to get home 2/3).
I guess the only real purpose of my rant, other then soothing my frustration, is to ask if this sort of running is common (or the key too) a high kill/death ratio, as well as if extended pursuits are ever worth it.

Common, yes. Is it key to a high K/D, no.

Sort of, and no. The cowards that ran most likely have a high k/d as you said because what they do is drag you to their friends, and then come back to pick you when his friends engage you. The problem with this tactic is, all the other side has to do is bring more numbers and they automatically win: the bad guys put their tails between their legs and go somewhere where there is no resistance. There is no fight for them; they're a waste of space and time. Why they enjoy wasting so much time over nothing I'll never know.

Is it worth it to chase them? Actually, it's worth more not to. If you don't follow them to their friends, they will never have any kind of chance at killing you. They might as well be airline pilots.


Please note, I haven't flown in the MA in a long time, so I don't know if it's the same as above anymore. Probably worse.

I don't even bother to follow these guys. They wasted 20min to get up to alt? Well not me. Most of the time they realise they don't have me on their 6 anymore so they turn around and think they can still fight me with the E they had to get separation. Half of the time they get caught in this trap. For the other half, I figure only the best players are left to fight and that's fair enough for me.

I figure if I drive them off their perch and make them run for ack they're no threat to anyone anymore and I've done my job and go look for someone else to fight.  Just as good as a win IMO.

I used to fly spit8 and only spit8 and found most will turn and run once they figure out the coudnt bnz more than once.  Now I fly the ponyd, I like the b better, but not good with aiming while moving fast yet, and I still find 1/2 the airplanes dive and run faster than me.  I guess that too many people think that not getting killed in fiter mode is the only way to get a good fiter score.  I wish they would get rid of the fiter (or attack mode) and just have 1 mode for buffs and another for fighters, that would actually force some of them to fight.

You need to fly like your afk.  No sign of life easy kill like.  Let them come to you.   
If they dont bite, let them fly on out of icon, then turn and go after them.
Or wait till their buddy shows up and go

If u want a good score ...just run when things not going good for you / and fly only runner type planes and never never turn...dont even need to have skill ...just luck of someone cross ur sights , then u can Say to others or good u are and trow them agressive PMīs when they shot u down.... hmmm what is really we talking about

So...your plane could equalize the E states with what they were flying after a single pass? Oh, how dreadfully shameful of people flying other planes to disengage from your CLAW, er, I mean, Spit.
