Unable to map Joystick
« on: April 25, 2011, 04:43:18 PM »
New patch doesn't allow you to map a joystick, and gives you only "Radio 1" option to map.

Need all options to map BUT radio 1.

This is confusing.  Are you saying you are not able to see the command list when you try to modify a selected input of the stick in the "Map Controllers" panel?

Are you not seeing the full command list in the command panel, when you click the "Modify" button to change a selected button?  Are you looking at the "Global" list of commands?

Skuzzy, I had the same problem this morning.  My post from a different forum.

Last night I spent a lot of time offline remapping my joystick/throttle and rudder pedals. I got them as far as I could and figured with the soon to be released patch and reading the forums I would be able to get make most of the settings I had prior to the new version.
This morning I went offline again just to check things out and the mapping I had for using my joystick to move GV turrets had gone back to NOT ASSIGNED.  When I clicked on modify to map them again, the only radial button I can select is Radio 1.  I am trying to set a Y and Z axis, not a button.
Is there a problem with the way the settings are saved now?

And now I've just had to remap by joystick settings for flight mode too. They disappeared as well.

I cannot duplicate this at all.

Are you saying the "Radio 1" command is showing up in the "Analog" panel?  Or is the "Analog" command selection panel not being shown?

I had the radio 1 thing after I downloaded the patch. A full reinstall sorted it - dont't forget to save settings and terrain (and sounds file if you have custom - I forgot about that one :()

Ok, the problem has to do with a non stick USB device being plugged into the USB bus.  A fix is on the way.

I got the same "radio 1" goofiness several times. I also posted a concern about mapping on the "Bug" forum if this is along the same problem. Thanks for getting the fix.

haha thought I had it fixed, then in game my stick loses its assignments and I get the radio 1 thing.

If I exit AH and go back in I can re assign. Here's hoping the patch fixes it.

Yeah, me too. I'm not going to bother going online again until at least the control mapping problem is fixed.

Has to do with the USB devices connected to the computer.  A non-input type of device would trigger the problem, but not always.
