goofy graphics under the artificial horizon

I got in my 4hog and noticed 2 large boxes under the artificial horiz. The top box is blue and bottom is black, just like the instrument colors. I also noticed it kinda moves when yawing etc like its not fixed to the instrument panel and if I yawed the plane quickly, I could almost see behind it.  I also noticed when I drop the clip board, the boxes are superimposed over the clip board for a brief sec.
