Stupid Beetles(Not the band)

Was riding bikes tonight with my friend and his sister and we went over to my pool to go rest on the chairs out front(Pool doesn't open til labor day weekend) But we hear this banging sound off to the side of the pool house, and when we go over there, there are hundreds of dead and almost dead beetles all over the place. They were ramming full speed into this giant pool light on the side next to the roof and dying from the impact. I was curious as to why they would kill themselves that way?  :headscratch:

theyre not killing themself on purpose.. unless thats what beetles do. They probably saw the light, and wanted on, but the wall was in the way. like asking why birds fly into windows on a house. the world may never know  :noid

Beetles fail to read patch notes and are known to rush hastily headfirst into that which they do not know what is beyond.   Coincidence?   :headscratch:

I'll go out again tonight and see if I can snap a picture of them, you could hardly see the ground because there were just so many dead bodies. :(
