There is no way we should be able to pull 6 Gs or dive to max speed with drop tanks or ordinance hanging off the plane. There should be much lower limits until ordinance/tanks have been dropped.

As you approach the limits you should get warnings in the form of audio cues that something is wrong.

If you exceed the limits by too far/too long then you should start taking damage. This could randomly be hung ordinance or stuff being ripped off the plane.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure doing any acrobatics with tanks on was verboten.

There were posted limits, yes. For example, P-47s with tanks or bombs under the wing shackles were limited in top speed and how many Gs they could go. That would make dive bombing tricky, no? Not exceeding the max AS you drop?

Good idea but I don't think HTC would enjoy looking for the number for each plane's each type of ordnance and each type of rail you could mount them to.

why not they did bother to research the max diving speed of each plane, what makes you think they dont have that info already?

Um because they would have to remodle all the planes in the game to payloads. Way to much work I would rather they just put in a new plane/tank.

The P51 flight manual has a specific warning to pilots to NOT try anything but normal climbing turns and let downs with drop tanks on the wings.  I'm not exactly sure how HTC should model this type of failure, but I do note that it is pretty easy to shed the wings on a fully loaded 262 when you pull too many Gs, so something should happen to the prop jocks that think that it is OK to pull 6Gs with bombs or tanks on the wings.

Exactly...well not the PBY part but everything else is right.

Why would having a bunch of rules or laws have anything to do with pulling G's in the plane?  And why would you have laws hanging off the plane in the first place..

Oh wait... did you mean ordnance?    :lol

the only thing that should happen is appropriate damage when speed/g force in excess of recommended is attained...but the the question becomes what is the cutoff speed and what damage should occur?

probably too many variables...might require a more comprehensive damage system?

you could take the weight of a 'dry' wing of a particular A/C. For example, figure it has a 9 g limit, then determine the force at 9G given the 'dry' weight. Then add the weight of the drops/ords to the wing and calculate the force for that. If the force for the second is greater than the first, then the wing breaks and you go boom.

We do not model structural limits by G's we model them by max forces on the wings. Hence all planes already will break at different G limits with different load outs.
