(i think its just a way to get out of modeling the interiors of the vehicles.

HTC said exactly that.. we should get new GV's more often with new system since they don't have to model an interior that barely anyone even uses to start with.

wow there you go assuming things again. did i say i wanted limited fields of view no. i said maybe they should add binoculars for the commanders position.

Using binoculars limits one's field of vision

Well i 1st got the tank up the max speed jumped on pintle moved it outta the way and looked around in zoom view with the Numbers pad by combining the keys. Its FAR more EFFECTIVE than this system. \
If i saw a tank i either jumped in turret and fired on it or i jumped in drives seat pulled back on joystick for 2 seconds stopped the tank jumped in the turret aimed and fired now you must press buttons which is far slower for me than the old system.  Note the title people who want the new driving set up can have it. (i think its just a way to get out of modeling the interiors of the vehicles.

Except for the driver part you can do the exact same thing. Nothing is forcing you to use the mouse. I.E. View keys are still active as before.

You're wrong on this one.  The FPS video game industry has proven out the mouse as the optimal SA/aiming system.  Only TrackIR beats it, and only for SA.

Next, if you want to keep the turret still, you can go to pintle MG position.  Not perfect but sounds like it fits your purposes.  Or you can just keep using the old hat style view system.

i love new system... but since my joystick has i slight lean to it is hard for me to stay on target with mouse. is there anyway to disable joystick when in gv like old days?

if you want a limited field of view, you still have zoom view from the commander's position and using the bracket keys adjusts the zoom level.
you do know zoom in aircraft and gunner positions create a near 1:1 ratio of realistic views right? (excluding the tanks old superzoom)

this is true.  I have all the gv functions linked to my joystick.  except for engine start, I am out of buttons for that one.  but I have zoom toggle/in/out, move forward/reverse/turn left/turn right/ all the views on hatswitch.  I even have the fire primary/secondary linked to the stick  :D. (first time I upped a gv and pulled the trigger and nothing happened.  somehow it wasnt mapped  :rofl).

oh I forgot the dial up range for tanks is linked to my throttle, it is an awesome option .

I love the new system.  For those having issues with it just go to the TA and practice a bit.  That is what I did until I got use to the new system enough to control the functions of my vehicle.  The change was for the better even though it may not seem liek it right now because it is so new.

I used it alot because i could see what gear i was in and how fast i was going with the new system you cant climb hills to save your life........  and the interiors are cool i though.....

crossfire u r right but not from laziness but from our demands for more tanks more quickly. which i like and i can do without the drivers view if there were a hud for speed and gears with that said the control sys needs mapping option's and hi teck has addressed that in the general discussion under thoughts on wasd thread
