i have been playing aces high for a long time and i have always wanted to see a sea plane added, espesialy the PBY-1 catalina. mostly because it would be a good plane for carrying torpedoes and would make a great CV killer.

ju88-a4 max speed at sea level with 2 torpedos ~225mph

b5n2 max speed at sea level with a single torpedo 211mph

pby-5a max speed at sea level with 2 torpedos ~180mph

...maybe it will be flying too slow to hit with the ship aa guns

Um...
1. Torps need to enter water below 200 anyway (exept American at 250) so why would the 180mph really matter?
2. The PBY could carry 4000lb of bombs allowing it to be a good medium bomber
3. It's damn sexy
4. It could be incorpirated in various other roles in the game. Troop transport etc.
I say +1 PBY!!!! We need it for such an amazing game

The PBY-1 was no longer a front line aircraft after '41...it was used for training/admin only.

The PBY would be a fun plane to fly, once it finds it's role in Aces High.  I've always thought it might be a way to incorporate CV resupply into the game.  Just because a plane isn't the fastest or strongest, doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a place in the game.  However, it has to be used enough to make it worth HTCs time and energy producing it.

Jayhawk your completely right and I have never thought of the abilityto rearm a CV I like it .
I think that it should be able to fly formations of PBY IF you have the bomb load an only a single of you had CV supplies. And instead of having the brown box we have for supplies we could have a raft we let out of the PBY
