Judging distances.
« on: May 18, 2011, 03:45:10 AM »
Somewhere on these forums someone had posted the ranges of d200-d1000.  Could someone link the info to me or tell me at what range a d400 target is at.  The icons only show d200,d400, d600, etc.  If I shoot at a target that's at d400, am I shooting at a target that's between 200-400, or 400-600?  Or like 350-550?

D200 =100-299
D400 = 300-499
D600 = 500-699
D800 = 700-899
D1000 = 900-999
1.0K = 1000-1250
1.5K = 1250-1750
2K = 1750-2250

all ranges are given in yards

You can use the distances Lusche posted to "know" your target is very close to your gun convergence too.

If you set your convergence to around 300, and fire just as the icon counter switches from D400 to D200, you'll know you're getting the most out of your guns (if you can get hits anyway  :D).

That tactic would also work if you set your convergence to 500, but that's generally beyond the real effective range for several reasons.
