I think this would also be great for bomber missions, now with the B-29 in game it would be even more effective

but for those die hard bombers out there flying around in there 234's you know how annoying it is when you get a oil hit or something and you have to end sortie, this would fix that problem

yet u bring supplies to a gv and it's good to go. If it works for gv's why not planes

Tank crews repair their own vehicles if possible and necessary, often under fire.

The only thing what can be repaired in a couple mins (represented by the 30 seconds) is a radiator leak. The ground crew cant do anything with structural damage.
Anyway, i would give a +1 to repair radiator leaks on the rearm pad, with a proper incrase in the reload/repair time.

so, you would rather sit and wait for repairs in a hangar than end sortie and grab a new plane there spammer?    looks like the only people who want something useless are the ones who enjoy just sitting around doing nothing anyway...

how about if gun repair was 3 minutes...radiator 7 minutes...engine damage 15 minutes...missing flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudders, 18 minutes...that should come close to approximating the time scale according to the 30 second refueling time.

Yes, because a bandaid or two completely heals a 20mm shell ripping through your arm or leg.
In 30 seconds, no less

Well in all honesty "hotpadding" an aircraft to include fuel and ammo in 30 seconds is laughably impossible   :aok

Oh and NO to a repair pad

no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. all ive heard. which is fine. i dont care.

but what about being able to repair certain elements, such as the radiator, which ive heard before, the healing/reviving (to an extent) the pilot idea is a good one, maybe being able to replace the control surfaces, being able to fix oil/fuel tank leaks, replacing the windscreen--to get rid of those stupid cracks-- fixing a gum jam...

all ust ideas off the top of my head. please dont kill me :(
i know the control surfaces isnt logical...just throwing out ideas.

There will be no repair pad. I believe HTC has said as much before.

The challenge is to return to base in 1 piece. And it IS an intentional challenge, per Hitech. That's why you have to be on the cement for a safe landing, vs "anywhere on the ground miles around the field"... That's the price you pay to get your name in lights.

There is no penalty for upping a new plane, whereas in real life you are limited in resources. There's no challenge if you can keep repairing yourself over and over, IMO. I find the challenge is to hotpad and go back out. That means every hit, every hole, takes you 1 step closer to losing that wing. It increases the difficulty of engaging the enemy every time you take damage. Because the next time you get hit could be the straw that broke the camel's back. Kind of a gamble, that way.

That's the way I like it.
