Didn't we fight a war against the English, just so we don't have to deal with this royalty crap?  :devil

I hope the fly over isn't the only thing that everyone found spectacular at this wedding. I mean look at those old Lady's hats. They nearly have to balance them selves with weights not to tip over.

Poor taste Sir.

May I remind you that even though you did revolt against British rule, they have been there to back you up ever since the end of the US Civil War?

You mean liberated ourselves.

Very shrewd move on the part of the British in showing that kind of foresightedness
But we do have to give your credit for it.

Its that whole "Royal" thing.

Im pretty sure using the anglo-latin language that the majority of people operate by, Revolt: The uprising of a people against an occupying power as a prelude to revolution. Is the proper term.

And while I could argue so many points that American independence was an inevitablility, the vast majority of Americans never listen to rational argument on the subject of either patriotism or Americas view point on historical fact.

But thats not the point. A jab at the Royal Family which presides over what was once the largest Empire on Earth, and arguably the most recognised and LOVED persons on Earth. Is out of the realms of either ettiquete or taste. Especially the respectful mature members of this board.

And I also made the point, that England has been a FRIEND of the USA, since the end of the war of 1812. The USA is inherently a British colony that sought independence, that chose force, rather than political and social moves to independence.

America and Britain should be friends. And there were Americans who did not want seperation from Britain at the time. Had they been prevelent it is more than likely the USA would have a union Jack instead of the stars now.

So... please. Dont have a go at Britain and her Monarchy. Because the Monarchy IS Britain, and Britain IS the Monarchy.
