Many folks do not know that when they pull up to the drive thru at McDonalds (and many other fast food chains) that your not talking to the cashier at that McDonalds--you are talking to an operator at a call center in Kansas City, St. Louis, or some other place far away.  They put the order into a computer and it shows up on that McDonalds overhead orders monitor.

Many pizza chains have gone to either national phone centers, internet ordering, or both.

That just blows my mind!  I thought two windows was ridiculous enough but a call center too?  (Actually I remember when McD's tried the three window thing).  When I was a kid I used to work drive thru at a Dairy Queen and I would take the orders, make change, make the softdrinks, hand out the food *AND* we'd crank out the cars faster than Burger King next door!  Especially for a Dairy Queen, that means something!  (We also has very obsolete equipment.. if you think AH vox sounds bad LOL).

It just goes to show that kids these days simply do not want to work.  Last time I was at McD's during lunch the girl at the first window put down her book, took my money, gave me my change and picked the book right back up again.  Half the time they don't even have to make change.. just swipe a credit card instead!

It's not at every location.  The local franchise owner is the one who decides if he wants to join the network.  It's supposed to be a cost saving measure over the long haul.

My wife has no problem saying "pepperoni"...

She wouldn't eat it, of course, but saying it, no problem.

if you want REALLY good pizza, AND like to spend a little less money on it, find a local "mom and pop" pizza joint. you'll be glad you did.
always the best :aok

Bless you Mr Dicho, but it's up to you to put it together and get it cooked.

My daughter is a super-smartie...graduated from a tough university Magna Cume Laude...she says that cooking is "alchemy".  I have to show her how to make beef gravy

All cooking is in reality is gathering ingredients and then following directions...nothing more.

If you're in the Phoenix, AZ, area look for Nello's. Try their sausage pizza. They make their own Italian sausage inhouse.  :old:
