Looks cool today, but 'back in the day'.... this was the year that they 'ruined' the look of the Charger. :old:

Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

I know right.

While My personal favorite Charger is a 2nd Generation,... '69 my fav...like MBailey's or this:

When I was a little boy, this 71 Charger was the sexiest thing on TV, and winning everything in site:

Fell in love with the Charger early, and have always wanted a '71 sinse.  '71 was a year of change throughout all the US builders, and the beginning of the end of the Muscle Car era. When you consider the Charger effectively died in '74, I wouldn't consider the 3rd Generation model ruined, by any means, especially as compared to the Chargers contemporaires for the 70's.

But, everyone has their opinions.  That's what makes classics...classics.

I'm guessing you were still watching Batman re-runs in those days.  That year/model was blasphemy to the Mopar owners the year they changed the design.

On a side note, I remember helping a friend in his garage (auto mechanic business) when one of those new chargers pulled in for an oil change. Everyone in the garage laughed like hell when he said "Looks like Penelope Pitstop's car".
  :x

Today, I think it looks like a classic, but it wasn't the most popular charger model/year back in 'the day'.

I'm not as old as you, I suppose, but since you are asking
Most of my childhood was spent under the hood of one of these with my stepdad....  :D

My step sister had a '69 goat ragtop with a stock 400 and posi. Red with white top. When I was 16, she made the mistake of letting me use it one night. She had to replace the rear tires on it the next day.  :rock
