P51 skin

I noticed while scrolling through all the skins, one of my favorite skins didn't look right to me.

The checkered tail 51 made by, I don't know looked like the yellow was really faded and bright. Is the historical right? I thought the yellow was darker and less faded.

That's a modern paint job on a nice pristine well kept and well washed "warbird".... If you have any period-piece pictures that may yield much better evidence that something is off.

I would say depends on the wear & tear on the paint & the time frame that the skinner chose to paint said aircraft.





Now Based off the photo of the real aircraft I would say the paint is fairly new in this picture just like the colour one below it from that time frame.





Now in the case of this B pony you can see part of the tail is bright & the other is faded.



Bottom line it is the skinners decision as to how he wants it to look.

I think the saturation on those photos could be off, as well. Color photography at the time was relatively new and not all film is created equal.

On the other hand I also think the yellow on the skin is a bit pale, but I blame it partly on being such an older skin and partly on the materials file, which has a habit of screwing with the yellows on skins in-game.

was just about to post some of those pictures.

Well to me it looks like an older skin, maybe someone could update the skin, a little like NrRaven updated his K4 skin not to long ago! :airplane:
