Hey Cap1  Not trying to start a long discussion here.  But are you disagreeing
with my statement that.
  1. Pontiac Brand Died in 2010?
  2. That this concept car is the closest you will see to a production car?
  3.  Or that the closest production car you will see will be the Chevy Camaro?

this is not a concept car. you can go to transam depot, and buy one of these beauties.

There is an AFTERMARKET COMPANY called TransAm Depot that makes these conversions.  These are not concept drawings.  I learned about it after watching American Chopper last night.  Yes, OCC is building a TransAm bike... three of them actually.

*Actually they've already been built as this was taped during the winter...

I thought it was clever how they named these conversions... for example.. the one that looks like a 1969 model is called the 6T9.

Ugh, can't stand that show anymore, too much drama and the old man is the queen.  What ever happened to real bikes made by real men that would sooner settle their differences out back behind the dumpster with a couple wrenches than settle them in court with lawyers and legal documents?

LOVED my candy apple red 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix.

Got it used.  Wished I had bought it new.

Stupidly sold it.

Good news, here in the Mid-South there are still plenty of them around.  New engine/powertrain and it's got a brand new life.  No rust down here.

I'll get another one.

I agree with you completely but still watch it once in awhile.  I lost all respect for the show after viewing THIS SCENE (warning language).  Look closely right at 0:50 and tell me what's strange about the fridge and the microwave.  That's right!  Neither were plugged in.  Hrmmm

The only reason I do like watching is to see what they do with the bikes.  Regardless as to the 'realism' of everything, they do produce some pretty cool stuff.  Junior (PJD) has more of a "let's build it and see how it turns out" attitude whereas Senior (OCC) had developed a more "cookie cutter" approach where everything is designed out first and then the bikes are built from a blueprint from there.  It doesn't even seem that Senior even has a very active role in the bike building anymore.

As far as the lawsuits and the drama, they are starting to lean back the other way again.  Whether real or fake it's still interesting.

I used to work production sound recording when I was a lot younger, the sound guys likely unplugged the fridge because the compressors when they're running (on an automatic switch) makes an aweful humm that's a bi!@# to edit out later but can be done... or we just unplug the fridge and get rid of the sound from the recording.  Why the microwave was unplugged is maybe because it had a clock on it (the edititor's bane), maybe they unplugged both not knowing which one was the fridge and teh fridge wasn't running at the moment, etc. etc..  The unplugged fridge is SOP, the unplugged microwave is a coin-toss, so a little suspicious but definetley far from unheard of in production recording/filming.

difference was, that back then, pontiac actually built their own engines, which were torque monsters that the chevy engines of the time could only hope to be.

These are AFTERMARKET CAR conversions.  NOT Production cars.  Pontiac, Pontiac Trans-am, and Pontiac Firebird all in the past.
These are Trans-Am Depot Conversions.
And I will agree with you that they are not Concept Cars.
