Dear HTC,
I've noticed that between sorties there is a decent chunk of time wasted fumbling with planes and loadouts. Therefore I propose that the hangar's external views (F3 and F5, if I'm not mistaken) be removed along with the F1 view position (since it is the default). With all those keys freed up, one will be able to have several loadouts availible at the press of a button. The player will need to set these macros up, however.
Setting a new macro would entail holding the desired F-key down until a message screen pops up. It would have three options <Edit Macro>, <Rename Macro> and <Cancel>.
- If one clicks <Rename Macro>, then a text box will appear with the previous macro name already written in it, and the player can edit it as they wish.
- If one clicks <Edit Macro>, then text appears at the top of the screen stating "Editing Macro X" (Where X is the name of the macro). If the macro has never been used before, then the loadout will appear to be a P-51 with 100% fuel and full guns. Once you have finished editing the Macro, then you simply hold down the same key again until a menu box pops up with two options <Save and Exit Macro Editor> and <Cancel>. Holding down any other key will do nothing.
To use a macro, the player will go to the tower and press the macro key. Text will appear at the top of the screen, stating "Using Macro X". The player will then click on the desired runway and take off. Perk rides will have an extra menu box with two options <Confirm Using Perked Plane/Vehicle X> and <Cancel>.
I have narrowed the possible ways to execute the macro to two: either the macro will temporarily take over the player's mouse to select the given loadout or the back end can handle it directly.
