Cool new Shotgun
« on: May 11, 2011, 03:34:10 PM »
So I am subscribed to NRA on youtube and saw this video on homepage because it said videos I might like.  I guess this new shotgun has already sold out everywhere its available. Kinda cool looking gun.  It ejects shells at the bottom instead of the side yet loads like normal shotguns, in the tube.

Here is a video of it firing

Browning BPS pump shotguns eject from the bottom, always have. Nothing new there. But it does look neat, nice tactical bullpup configuration, easy to handle in tight spaces. I don't know that it is significantly better than what I have at a fraction of the cost, which is a Mossberg 500 with riot barrel, extended magazine, and Knoxx comp-stock (recoil compensating pistol grip collapsable stock). Similar to below:

My Mossberg is basically identical to the above with the exception of the sights, mine is sans sights as I anticipate never firing at ranges further than 10-15 feet.

If I were going to buy another cool gee-wizz shotgun right now, it would definitely be a Saiga 12.....

Yes, that's right.... 12 guage AK either clip or drum fed.  :rock :rock :rock

My next SG will probably be a Saiga 12 conversion for sure.

looks like the feed mechanism doesn't lock in place once a round is chambered on that thing and having a pistol grip it should...i can only imagine the recoil

reaper, do you know if that saiga has any issues with misfeeds during heavy firing? i haven't kept up with combat shotguns since the 80s and i remember getting to try a combat conversion of a remington semi auto 12 gauge (don't remember the model) in the corps that misfed if you tried to fire it too quickly...even after modifying the ejectors and feed ramp.

My home defence shotgun, bar none the best tactical shotgun on the market Benelli M1 Tactical

That Saiga 12 looks like a blast (pardon the pun) to shoot

I have a Mossberg 500 that ive had since i was 12yrs old, I still use it every year to hunt, its not pretty or fancy, but in the 28yrs ive owned it, its been one of the most reliable guns ive ever owned. Im sure when the time comes my 10yrold son will pass it to his son, and it will still be as reliable as it was the day I took it out of the box  :aok

I heard that you can kill someone if they break into your home and not get in trouble with the law? Is that true? and do you keep it loaded?  :lol

Laws like that vary from state to state.

In PA yes i can........the thing is, you better be ready to spend a whole lot of money defending yourself if you do. I use to be an assistant instructor at a conceal carry course at the local indoor range and gunshop where i worked, one thing we did was to invite the local DA in to review and teach the laws regarding the taking of a life in self defence for the state of PA. One thing ive learned, nothing is clear cut, and if the DA in your area has an "issue" with gunownership, he can (if he chooses) make your life miserable.

All that said, I live by the motto  Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

To answer your question is it loaded, Break into my house and put the security of my family at risk, and you'll find out.
