Late Night Arena Reset Question
« on: May 13, 2011, 12:46:11 AM »
When Pacific time do they do that Arena reset thing...and shove us into to the 850 arena

I am very tired of not being smart enough to know it, and climbing to alt in a bomber only to have the system tell me I have 10 minutes to land when I am 30 or more minutes from the nearest friendly base....and I just spent x minutes getting to alt or transiting into hostile terriroty

I really hate this reset feature...but it is what it is

11PM PST

Im not particularly fond of the resets either. But it is what it is.

My own personal preference would be that the resets take place closer to between 11 PM and 11:30 PM EST as my own personal observation is thats when the numbers seem to drop like a stone.

Of course HTC may see different and more accurate number changes then I do. But thats what I seem to experience. And it happens real sudden like too. As if someone flipped a switch and said "Ok bedtime. Lights out (click)" One minute there is a nice sized fight going on somewhere then suddenly only a couple of people are there.

Anyway. I am assuming its the 11 PST because that would cause the least interruption in gameplay for those logged in in central and west coast areas. As often when the host disconnects for the reset alot of people wouldn't bother to log back in again because of the time. I know I'll often do this. And the idea is to keep as many people playing for as long as possible.

Now this certainly won't happen but...

... with the continuing trend of having lower player numbers logged in at any given time I would even like to see the dual peal arenas gone fore the summer. Currently we are far away from pre- or post arenasplit player numbers. I'd suggest going to one single large map peak arena.

Last TT we had about 300 players online when there were >400 at the same time about a year ago, and 500-600 players about 3 years ago. Other days are not different. When the switch comes during the week, we have population numbers barely crossing the 100 in the lower populated arena during "peak" for many hours.
I don't see having 300-400 players on a large map as bad, esspecially when we take into consideration that we had player numbers like that in one arena even with the split LW system back when the player numebers were much higher.

So my wish would be to further adjust for the changed population. One offpeak arena (small) and one peak arena (large) for the summer - until numbers get big again.

yeah it would be awesome 1 arena with 60 players and another one with 10. that's how it was before.
