we rarely do NOE and we rarely have 60 members on. last night we had 12-13 on.

NOE stands for "Nap of the Earth" in which you fly under 200ft to avoid Radar so nobody "scrambles" from an undefended base. God Forbids anyone actually defends a base, I mean vDallas would really go Vox crazy. And last night was at least easily over 30 at the knight field, so granted your 12-13 plus however else you got in the NOE/mission.

Good question though, How many planes is 2 and a half dar bars?

i believe a red darbar is relative to how many green planes are in a sector, say 30 red guys and 15 green guys, you have a full dar and half a green one, or 60 red and 30 green, full and half.   at least that's what i think.    i could be wrong, i know i'll be corrected if i am  :D

see i wouldnt have a problem with that, but the thing is we have people that can manage a fighter and then we have people that are lucky to get off a carrier. So say we had 20 guys do what your saying, about only 10 would last atleast 3 min.

Refreshing to see a mission devoid of the usual suspects (51, 190, Typhoon, 110, etc).  I gotta agree with Lepape on this one, looks like a lot of fun potential.

To speak to the quote above, I think it's important to not let fear of "failure" stop you.  So you try it any some people in your squad only last 1 minute in the fight, after a few more tries maybe the last 2 minutes, and so on till they get more confidence and develop more.  It's been a long time but I still recall what it felt like when I was starting out, and although it was a different game back then (far fewer people online, and a much more limited plane set) I remember taking off in my P-51 and hoping that I wouldn't run into anyone higher than me because I would be completely lost in a fight if I couldn't dive from above to attack, one of the best parts about learning and getting better is being free from that little nagging voice in the back of my head when I used to take off.

While failure, or losing can be frustrating, and is a lot less fun than winning it's also often the only way to learn new things especially when trying something new.  When I was in college a professor told me that if I was comfortable with what I was doing then I probably wasn't learning anything.  Ultimately it's all about fun and doing what you find enjoyment in doing so please don't interpret this as an attempt to tell you or anyone else how to play, I just wanted to offer up an alternate point of view.

i agree completely, we try to offer help to some, and some take it, others just refuse the help becasue they think that they already know everything. so i just let them have their way.

By the way, I didn't see you hiding behind any billboards in the past 7 days...

wasnt on much last week due to work, so they may have gone NOE. But when im usually on we dont go NOE much. Im usually not behind a bilboard, if im behind anything its going to be a guard rail/bridge at night with the lights off.

Sorry, but like i said, there were only 12-13 Brigade members on lastnight. I cant be held accountable for anyone else that joins in with us. Sometimes we do Ops with other squads, just to make the horde so much larger and noobish just to get more whines on BBS/200. And i know what NOE stands for, i'v been around for awhile, but thanks for explaining.  :aok

Yeah, you can't help those who won't accept it. :)

You can try pointing out that some people here have been doing this for a very long time, I've been playing AH for 11 years and I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything yet, far from it in fact. :)

The Pigs have quite a few pilots online at times, so I point them at an equal sized red dar.
But, do you do it in D3As? P-40Bs?

Recently, Soulyss and company ran a P-40B sweep. I remember because he roped me in my 205 and pinged me to death.  :salute

Bottom line is having fun. For me, it is upping the occasional hangar queen. Against a horde of D3As?  A Hurricane Mk1, an I-16, or maybe a Brewster.

Yes in C.202's, 109F's, Stukas in fighter mode, etc.  You name it, we have done it.  We have regretted it, but we have done it... :rofl

i'v been doing it for 9 years and i dont know it all. Theres alot i dont know. But i just try to have fun. But then theres others who try to tell you what you should be doing, because thats the only way to play. So  :salute sir, for not attacking me personally, or my squad as a whole. we're just trying to have fun, no matter what are skill set is, it doesn't really matter, the point is we are having fun.

No thanks.

I kept vigil on the speedo in GA...

I know that fines are set by each county and could be anywhere up to $700 depending on the county.  :O
