Forum Upgrade
« on: May 14, 2011, 06:13:25 PM »
Hey Guys,

I have a very simple request concerning the BBS.  I want it to be that if you click the back button to exit a thread, then the <new> icon from that thread will dissapear.  It has tricked me many times into going back and searching for a new post.

Something tells me that this wish won't be possible because:

A.) HTC does not have access to the forum source code
B.) Some sort of problem with loading all of those flags would cause memory issues

That's not how it works. When you hit the back button, the page isn't reloaded, you just go back to the version of the page that your browser has stored.
There's probably a browser setting you could change.

Silly me, I've been clicking the "Go Up" button at the end of the page all this time.

There's probably a browser setting you could change.

"automatically check for new versions of the page each time you visit"  or something like that...

alternatively to clicking the refresh button "refresh" you could simply hit F5.

This was about the <new> icon hanging around... right?

Correct, I'd like it to be that when I hit the back button, it refreshes the forum list.

Yeah, so you need to change a setting in your browser. What you're saying is like asking HTC to change where the buttons on your stick are.

First, don't use Internet Exploder. Try something else, like Opera.
