Anybody here like late 60's acid rock?
« on: May 17, 2011, 05:23:23 PM »
I was brought up listening to the following bands by my dad and I still love dropping the tunes into the playlist while I am driving these days. It reminds me of long road trips with an old 8 track player in the car and the windows rolled down because we had no A/C.

I've noticed that about 50% of the late 60s flashbacks I see in shows or movies seem to feature "journey into the center of the mind" playing as the flashback begins.

I love the 60's music, not necessarily the acid rock though.

The Doors
Moody Blues
Simon and Garfunkle
Peter Paul and Mary
Beachboys
and tons of the one hit wonders from the time.

Not to mention some of the gag songs like Ahab the Ayrab and They're coming to take me away ha ha.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Yeah my dad had all those as well. My house growing up was about as mixed up with music as you could get. I was listening to all that old music that he listened to; plus was mixing in some 70's heavy metal with some 80's punk rock, Hank Williams SENIOR and Junior, various country music artists and some of the EARLY rappers like Easy E, NWA and that group.

The Blue Cheer might have been louder than Grand Funk.
