Did you select in the PS3's setup output to HDMI connection and not analog? white/red/yellow cable?  when i hooked my PS3 up to my HDMI on my 46" LED i had to change the settings in the PS3. i just wonder if a computer monitor can handle being hooked to a PS3, i think a HDMI connection is different on a monitor than a TV's HDMI connection i could be wrong

whenever i changed from the colored cables, to the HDMI cord on my tv, it would pop up a msg asking if i wanted to switch over to HDMI settings (gave me 24 secs to decide before it would default back to cables)

but with the computer monitor, it doesnt give that option. it automaticly starts it in HDMI setting. even after i reset the ps3, it went straight into HDMI mode without asking if i wanted to switch to that mode or not.

ahhhh then it sounds like its working right then, i know it asked me the same thing the first time i hooked it up to HDMI. I could not believe the difference after changing it over with my LED TV it's like you can reach out and touch it, it's fantastic for Game Immersion and the Blu-Ray is outstanding and time to time i'll hook my PC up to the TV and play AcesHigh or BFBC2 on it for a total eyegasm, i'm really waiting on BFBC3  woot!!

same lol.

im wondering tho, does the pricetag on the HDMI cord make a difference in the quality of the image it displays?

i bought a $40 HDMI cord, and the picture is stunning (especially on killzone 3)

but i saw an article yahoo wrote on HDMI cords, and it says theres HDMI cords out there for between 200-$500 (and even one for over a $1,000)

are those cords really worth it? or is the picture quality between expensive hdmi and cheap hdmi cords too little to tell or warrent spending that much money on one?

There is a difference and its noticeable to a small degree; at least it has been for me. I spent a little extra on some nice mid range price wise HDMI cables and I noticed a little change in the picture but not enough to justify going to the super high dollar cables.
