Its just a PS3...you don't have a gaming network to play on so its ok. Just sell it for half of what you paid for it and go buy a new Xbox360.

Why go waste money on a Xbox that will break in 2 years?

You have to set it on a certain imput or channel. On my TV normal cords are Input 1, The next Input 2, and so forth.  So try that.  I believe for HDMI its input 3, I have the one under HDMI but above the normal cords cause my TV cant do HDMI.  Im fairly sure it works the same with monitors.

And yeah its funny, because xbox fanboys talk smack about PS3, yet Xbox went down 2 weeks after first release and have almost a 50% failure rate within the warranty period.  Xbox also was code broken within 2 weeks of release, it took like a year for PS3.

HMm, ive never used it with a monitor so....did you see if both cords are securely plugged in?  Try re selecting the HDMI in the source control, see if that works.

Geez don't get your pants in a wad about it...just jabbing you playnothing diehards in the side with a pointy stick once again.

As for the other part; I assume that you have tried plugging the game console into another similar HDMI outfitted monitor or television? If not then you should because its possible that the video portion of the PS3 has crapped out on you.

Assuming you have the correct output selected on the PS3, and the correct input selected on the monitor you can try unplugging the cable and then reconnecting it.  <Sarcasm>One of the many wonderful things about HDMI</sarcasm> is the need to maintain a digital handshake between the source and the display in order to preserve HDCP, if that got disrupted somehow it can kill the image at the display unplugging and re-connecting the cable may solve the problem if that's the case.

Read my edit above your last post. Its apparently a common problem with PS3's.

Idk what your talking about "common" problems, considering the fact ive had mine 5 years and never had one. And I have personally never heard of anything like that happening.

the HDMI cord is less than a yr old, the ps3 as well. before this i had a 4 yr "Phat" ps3, which didnt have any HDMI problem.

ive tried doing that. i factory reset my monitor, than reset my ps3, turned it on, nothing.

unpluged the HDMI cord, even switched the heads around, nothing.

i dont have one,

see, i had a 32 inch HD tv, but i only used it for playing my games on.

i whatch my netlfix& everything else on my computer.

then one of my friends offered me $260 for the tv (when i only payed $130 for it)

and i thought "sure, i got this HD monitor i can hook it up too" so i sold the tv.
