In Australia we have a saying amongst the teenagers.
All of us were alive to see 9/11. But almost all of us were young.
Imagine our consternation when we flick on the TV at 6am to watch Pokemon and CNN is blasting all channels as a special live feed.
hence the saying "We want to avenge 9/11 because our cartoons got cancelled"
Its kind of a sick joke considering how horrible it is. But its a sobering thought that I will tell my kids and grandkids when I have them about that day, and everything it meant. All of modern history is measured after that one infamous date. It will be ingrained in the history books as the cause of this modern tyrade of information warfare.
In 20 years time, I will look back to when I watched the live broadcast of Australian and American infantry columns rolling into Iraq live, watching the USAF pound Baghdad to pieces on a different channel with Tomahawks.
Im hoping that in 6 months time, I will have the vision of all our guys coming home. Thats , what I want to tell them about.
Sorry for a bit of a rant, but Im just going to give a teens perspective on the getting old bit.
