Dumb question but didnt Infinity ward get released from Activision?

How would infinity ward be able to make Call of Duty because isnt the rights owned by Activision?
Nope ActiBlizz still owns the Infinity Ward studio but most of the old crew jumped ship after the two head men quit/got fired.  Of course I'm a PC gamer so having to listen to Jason West and Vince Zampella trying to justify the crap they saddled them with all I could do was :rofl

meh...the CoD games remind me more and more of the Madden football series. Same basic game released year after year with different jersey colors, cover art and maybe a new feature or two.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

Personally every COD after COD4 has been semi fun for the first week, then it is boring as hell. Why you ask? Because every COD the same game, the only difference is the maps and guns, im sorry, some of the guns.

Yeah but that wasn't a problem until after how many umpty-teen-years of releases?  It built EA Games.  And it still makes a decent profit each year even though I think it's finally lost its nostalgia.

You dont get my point, any retard with one arm and two fingers can play COD.  Its TO EASY, it requires no skill at all.

-BigBOBCH

Not all of it.  It's simply not true.

Grab your copy of CoD, go on YouTube, and look up 360 noscope.  Now get in a match, and try to replicate the feat.  Not so easy, huh?

Try to get at least three kills every single time you die, without fail.  Not so easy, huh?

Try to get a kill with a grenade across the map.  Not so easy, huh?

The point is that CoD is a broader game than it appears.  It's controls are intuitive and simple to use, and it seems like any idiot can pull off anything. This is simply not the case. Try doing tricks, try putting limitations on yourself, try setting achieve a supremely high goal.  There are plenty of was to play CoD, and trust me, we may never see them all.

I like both BF, CoD, and heck, even HALO is fun once in a while.  It's the reason why I can enjoy PacMan after a game of chess.  Each is special and amazing (not to mention frustrating) in their own ways.  I prefer battlefield, but having more people to play with on CoD is also fun.

In conclusion, you can never compare one game to another without running into their paradgims (the things you accept as part of the game without question).  They are from almost two different genres, but each has something to offer.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Dropshotting takes no skill, I have had games with over 64 kills and less then 4 deaths. I also had a 4-1 K/D Ratio on CODMW2 before I went and sold it. I was actually VERY good at COD. My point is its TO easy.

At first I was only going to get Battlefield 3, but after I saw Modern Warfare 3's trailer I think I'll get both. I'm looking forward to see what it's like.

Maybe so but you have to realize other people may like that style of gameplay, i have the first 2 MW games but on PC and yes i agree its a run,gun and nade fest people doing things that's impossible to do, but again some like that and that's why they play them, i shelved mine once the Battlefield series came around because i liked it 10 times over more structure, better squad aspect and the maps are just Better i still play BC2  but BC3 i think is going to set the standards in improved graphics

better squad aspect

That is another huge thing. In COD any one person can win the game for your team. In BF you HAVE TO work as a team.

ive done half the stuff youve named. (including killing 2 people in FFA with a simple smoke grenade on nuketown).

now, try to go do ALL that, on battlefield.

if you play battlefield like you would cod, you'd become nothing more but easy kills.

That's why I don't play Battlefield that way.  Like I've said before, they are two different games and demand two different playstyles.

BF3.

I have a feeling BF3 will go over like Medal of Honor did, all hype. I've bought every BF game in the series and 1942 was the only good one, I sold everything else. What I learned though was anything with DICE or EA (especially EA) on the cover, will be bad.

The CoD series has entertained me ever since the beginning. Really wish they'd go back to the old style, but I like where they are going with it now.  :aok
