or i can just tell skorpion to look at those 2 lists and its pretty easy to see which weapons were put in both games (unless youve not played black ops)

I've played both, and let me tell you, the similarities are negligible.  The Service Rifle is an old M-16 prototype, and the Assault Rifle is based upon the FAL, and has been there since Fallout 2.  The Chinese Assault Rifle is based upon the AK-series, and if we're going to split hairs over copying other games' guns, then both copied it from Counter Strike (if not an earlier game).

All the melee weapons in New Vegas are either completely unique or in the case of the combat knife, ubiquitous.  The minigun is older than CoD, and the rest of the Big Guns are unique.  The Marksman Carbine is also ubiquitous, it is a development of the M4 series.

The weapons are completely different, and the similarities exist only exist in weapons that go back to DOOM or Counter Strike.  You won't find any nuclear bomb catapaults in Black Ops, and the FAMAS is certainly not included in the Fallout timeline.

ok, ill say this one time, and one time only. Its a free country, i can do what i want with my xbox and video games. those are reccomendations.

i was using 90% because my keyboard is messed up, my sister spilled syrup all over the keyboard and now numbers one thru eight are broken.

and finally, it doesnt matter if a list of weapons for black ops came out before new vegas, they had alot of guns developed when it came out already, probably one of the first things done. and i read it, why cant you?
until my mother dies and you adopt me (id rather commit suicide) then you can tell me what to do with my video games.

uh, if your talking about the assault rifle in FO3, thats not a FAL, thats  G3. the autocarbine in NV is an ar-15(which is the commando in blops).

LOL, no actually, you cant. theres a ratings system for a reason little one. if your were maybe 16, then sure letting you play M rated games would be sorta ok, but at 14? nah.

uh, child there are 2 ways to enter numbers on a keyboard 1. the number pad. and 2. the numbers lining the top of the letters. and you also have a virtual keyboard in your options menu. learn to lie better

Tyrannis, I took your advice and I read thought both lists.  Since Black Ops doesn't have energy weapons, power fists, pool cues, or golf clubs, I skipped those sections in the NV guide.  Here is what I found:

China Lake = Grenade Launcher

M60 = Light Machine Gun

M16 = Service Rifle

Commando = Assault Carbine

M1911 = .45 Auto Pistol

Python = .44 Magnum Revolver

Frag Grenade = Frag Grenade

C4 = C4

Eight total matches.  By my count Black Ops has a total of 54 weapons.  14.8% of the weapons match. 

If you your totally honest, all of the weapons listed have appeared in other games prior to Black Ops. With that in mind one could claim Black Ops ripped of many of the FPS that came before it.

The funny thing is thousands if not millions of videos have been made of COD or some other FPS.
