Could we also incorporate a "boss bar" so when I end up fighting the likes of SHawk, JUGgler, or Bruv119 I can see how much damage they have left and how many more fireballs I need to throw at em before the fall over and die and Princess Toadstool runs up and gives me a kiss on the cheeck???

What exactly is a "xbox style of play"? I see that thrown around a lot by players with very different styles of play themselves. Landgrabbers and Furballers calling each other XBox-Kids...  :headscratch:

White flag at the town is the firs and probably best example of "more gamey" I can come up with.  Previously, the attackers had to take extra time to double check the towns to see if they were down, that took time, patience, and a bit of know-how.  It took some actual reconnaissance.  Now, it is easy peasy, just pound the town and "puuf" the white flag pops up and the town is ready to capture.

I'd almost like to see a shifting of the capture parameters.  Maybe it is time HTC test out a shorter repair time for buildings?  Why did they pick 45 mins for the buildings to repair themselves?  It was chosen long before they had the flag announcing the "ready for capture!", no doubt there.  Maybe try out the %50 town down with no flag?  maybe try %90 and no flag?  Maybe put the auto ack at 30 minutes and keep the buildings at 45?

It's not easier with the flags than it had been in this year for many years. The flag itself is helping, but in the bigger context capturing the towns had not become easier. The flag was introduced to compensate for the fact that the new towns are more difficult to bring down and to visually check than the old ones. Hitech himself said about town capture "It was not meant to be harder", so the flag is just compensating for increased difficulty.
And that not even perfectly, because it's still harder to capture a base, needs more effort, more combat, more "casualties" and happens significantly less than before we got the new towns.

If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

He's talking about games in general and not necessarily Aces High.  What Grizz doesn't understand is that this so called "xbox game play style" has been around long before Xbox or any other console games.

His examples of "xbox game play style"
I would say there is a very broad based list of items that pertain to an "xbox'r" or "xbox game" or whatever you want to call it.  Here is my list:

-Game play trumps realism always.  If something would be less realistic but a lot more fun, it's going to be in the game
-Fast paced
-User friendly - lots of information, easy to control and manage
-Easy to learn and earn immediate success

You haven't even mentioned if you like the idea or not, you got caught up on the first sentence of this which had little to do with the actual wish.


You'll find any of those things on his list in almost any computer games since they've been made and quite frankly, usually the cornerstone of any game design doc.
