Buy our Troops a Cup O' Joe!
« on: May 31, 2011, 12:42:28 PM »
<S> All
I saw this link on FB. A great, simple way to show your support for the troops!
You can buy one, up to a Platoon of cups of coffee (30), and
give a message of Thanks and encouragement.
If you've ever been deployed away from Family, you know how much
even the smallest things meant!

Let's show them that at Aces High, we do care! (Who knows, might bring new customers too)

I would rather send over a tricked out outfit with nuclear warhead launching module, but coffee might help too   :devil
The only HO I have every attempted was with a French potato named Miss Francine.  Otherwise I stay away from the HO it makes me very nervous having 20 and 30mm shells whipping by my canopy.

WOW, 2$ for a cup of coffee?  Am I the only one seeing a company trying to make a shameless profit using the troops as an excuse or did I miss something?

Am I the only one who is surprised that "coffee for the troops, and lots of it" isn't somewhere in our vast military expenditures?

Compared to 4.30 I have to pay for a medium sized drink at starbucks?

Yeah, you're the only one seeing it. I'd kill for a $2 cup of coffee in AK.

Sometimes that is all it takes.  Not that I know but from the Vets I have talked to, showing that you actually care helps your mental being.

ding ding ding ding!

And if it is for the troops, it should be at cost not at profit (especially when it is presented as an act of kindness towards our troops).  Yet another example of how war and these kids are used for profit.

If you ask me, these kids should have everything taken care of while deployed, and be set for the rest of their lives when they come back.  Instead . . . well, we know what happens.

If you don't want to pay it, send support some other way.  Between the cost involved and this clause at the bottom of the page, "A portion of our proceeds is donated to charities that help military personnel and families of the fallen "  I don't think they are getting rich off this scheme.  Making money, sure...but rampant exploitation?  Not for 2 bucks.

You are missing the point.  I do send.  Every day.  It is called paying taxes.  That money should be spend in taking care things like that.  Instead of aid to Pakistan, spend it in taking care of these guys.  Are we saying that these guys are not even provided decent coffee and some coffee company has to ask for donations (for a small profit)?  Is that acceptable?

As I said.  You fight for your country, everything should be taken care for you and your family for the rest of your life.
