WWII: Spitfire or Me-109, both are beautiful fighters

Modern Day: Any of the SU's, Su-33 and Su-37 are my top 2 favorites out of the series.

You would think those stubby wings and big top end would require a long runway but they get up in pretty short order.

Stops and backs up nicely but unbelievably loud to anybody standing line of sight to the compressor...which is screaming away just a few inches inside the opening.

The OP comment on the F4 Phantom was beyond ridiculous.

That being said.  Historically nothing will top the Spitfire XII for me.  P51B and P38F/G/H are tied for second.

In game, it's the 38G

Books can be a really good friend to you when researching a particular plane.  The history of the Phantom is well documented as is it's combat career that continues to this day.  They still serve as front line birds in a number of countries.

the only thing wrong with the phantoms(besides the splitting fuel tank problem) was the early ones, which lacked a gun. the govt. fixed that.
