MY 2 CENTS

SINCE WE GOT THE B-29 WHICH EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHERS SAID WE'D NEVER GET....... LETS LOSE THE ENEMY ICONS. NOTHING WORSE THAN BEING ALL CAMO BUT KNOWING YOU HAVE A BIG RED P-51 SIGN FLYING NEXT TO YOU. MAYBE NOOBS COULD HAVE THEM FOR THE 2 WEEKS BUT IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO NOT HAVE THEM.
  OR, HOW ABOUT IF YOU TURN OFF ENEMY ICONS ON YOUR OWN , NO ENEMY WILL BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR ICON? FAIR IS FAIR RIGHT?

    STRATS: NICE FAT TARGETS, FUN TO BOMB, FUN TO DEFEND. HOW ABOUT ATTACHING SOME PLANE FACTORIES TO THEM LIKE THE OLD AIR WARRIOR STYLE. "KILL THE SPIT FACTORY" . ALL OF THESE WOULD MAKE THE GAME MORE REAL. IM NOT EVEN GOING TO START ON THE SPLIT ARENA THINGY BUT US OLD DIEHARDS WOULD LOVE 1 ARENA BACK.

  I KNOW I KNOW, HITECH WOULD LOSE PLAYERS, BUT HE WOULD GAIN THE RESPECT OF PLAYERS LOOKING FOR THAT "REAL" GAME. AND MORE WOULD BE SURE TO COME OR COME BACK EVEN.  AGREE?

yeah i also like that idea, you can press alt i and keep the friendly icons, i would like for everyone to have enemy icons off as default BUT you have to think of the people with smaller monitors, lower quality pcs and etc... this would give unfair advantage to anyone with a higher resolution pc.

I mean... i DO like the idea of having no enemy icons, but this is not good for everyone. depends on the screen resolution and stuff...

First, try not yelling.

Second, I don't think it is a good idea to simulate a bunch of legally blind (i.e. could not pass the vision test needed for a driver's license) pilots, which is what a no icons environment means, even if it is just no enemy icons.

What removing icons would be great for is the players who do not wish to fight.

I do agree that icons make Situational Awareness at range easier than in reality, but at short range the limitations of computer interfaces make Situational Awareness harder than in reality.  Removing icons makes Situational Awareness harder in all cases that it is in reality.

You guys are more than welcome to have icons on friends only.  it is an option available right now.  show some leadership and start flying like that  :devil, rest of us tards would rather have icons.

wouldn't work in the big romper rooms...all the kids would get mad losing the 3.5 mile ultra vision then quit...now you have to be honest, you only want this because you're getting owned in your runstang.

i do like the no enemy icons but gotta be realistic in expectations...it isn't for everyone...do what fugitive said, go to the ava.

Yep, go try the Axis vs Allies arena they typically have enemy icons disabled and friendly icons reduced to 3K.
