Chivalry Medieval Warfare
« on: June 03, 2011, 02:21:11 AM »
i just NEED to share this, i used to follow the work of the company that makes this game and now they have a new project wich is called Chivalry Medieval Warfare.
it is medieval as always, no fantasy world involved, no magic, just cold steel battle. i always loved this fps game and now... well it just got perfect.
it is in early alpha stage but i cant wait for the release. i want this game as much as bar wants his m18.

ah yes, im totally gonna buy that one too. oblivion came with a unique single player experience but IMO the best meele system is with the chivalry guys. and man i do like multiplayer on that style, have you ever played Age of Chivalry? that game is so much fun.

also if you like the fantasy stuff there is Dark messiah of migth and magic... but man....

MEDIEVAL WARFARE!!!!! :noid

Both pale with respect to Mount&Blade (www.taleworlds.com). The only game that got melee right. The real game content is in the free mods that are available to it though, as the "native" single player and multi-player are quite shallow. Some of the the mods are truly amazing.

What Bozon said! In spades.

M&B got it right, and they made it modifiable so that it didn't get stale.
I didn't really get into the multiplayer side of it. But I was a hard core M&B fan for several years.

I wish they'd do something about those mountain-climbing horses in M&B, and a more flexible tactical system would be nice.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Oblivion pale in comparison to M&B :rofl

M&B suked, there may have been good elements in it, but to say it was better then Oblivion is really stretching it, and so so far from the truth. Oblivion is the best Fantasy game ever made, I have literally Hundreds and hundreds of hours playing it, modding it, customizing it, M&B was clunky, graphics were lame at best, it had so many bugs in it, it was almost unplayable, and ya I tried it on at least 4 different occasions.

I personally think M&B is a horrible game...and you cant get more D&D dweeby then me.

it looks cool for people who want an medievel multiplayer experiance.

and of course, it wouldnt be the age of chivalry creators if it there wasnt decapitation and head crushes! muahahaha

about mount and blade... i have tried it once, didnt like it. Age of chivalry is tons of fun but because of the engine, the gameplay gets limited. and thats why i am waiting for this one to come out, man when i saw you actually had to aim at your oponent's weapon movement in order to defend correctly i thougt "this is it man!"

aaaaaand of course: decapitating someone is always fun.

there is a mod for Oblivion called "Deadly Reflex" not only can you decapitate some one, but you can cut them in half, and if you time it right you can cut both there hands off and watch them die screaming and wailing in pain.

plus another mod for arrows if you hit them in the center of the chest they fall to their knees trying to dig out the arrow while blood is pouring out of them :D

ya man Oblivion is a sick game, once you start modding it, it truly is a game that is never ending, and seriously very fun, the dragon mount is a blast, there are thousands of mods out there for it, any thing you can think of someone has already made a mod for it.
Oblivion is the game I go to when AH gets to me.

I was checking out the vids for  Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, it does look pretty awesome :aok

yeah The Chivalry style of multiplayer really fits to me, im thinking of buying oblivion too, soon. i have only played it in my friends' pc. but maybe ill just wait for skyrim, those graphics are better then my imagination can do while playing D&D.... and i DO have a nice video card on my head.

I played Age of Chivalry since its beta version, always a big fan but then i stopped because after a while the comunity that played it got bigger and dummer. really anoying kids and etc. also they had made some maps that were fantasy like. like a place full with lava etc.. wich runined to realistic concept of crusade the story has... but in the videos and screenshots i see on the medieval warfare they are rescuing the best classic maps: battle grounds, woods, villages etc.

actually at first glance i thought it was another total war game...and i love total war though the mechanics makes gameplay really repetitive.

haven't even tried mount and blade yet...although that one looks fun too.

i've been wondering for years whether or not an fps based on the civil war would work...something like an fps combined with elements of an rpg, where you control a character and build your skills through battle, start out with a basic musket and bayonet, get weapon upgrades, speed up reloading ability, earn a horse, earn command of a small squad of ai troops similar to the ones in hidden and dangerous...probably would end up being too much of a challenge for the xbox crowd.
