F190A8
« on: June 04, 2011, 12:32:08 AM »
Flew this airplane a couple of times tonight. Even managed to get a couple of kills. I has a very formidable gun package. Although it carries MG, 20mm and 30mm ammo, the counter in the cockpit just says MG and Cannon.  So presumably the 20 and 30 mm rounds are counted together.  Is there a way to tell how many 30mm rounds you have available as they are used?

When the number starts dropping at a slower rate, you're out  :D. Also, I think the 20's have different rpg.

The quick answer is no but trust me, you'll know when the 30's are gone.

The 30mm were mounted in the outer wings. The outer round counters on the cockpit panel are for these guns. The inner round counters on the cockpit panel are for the wing root guns. (from the A-8 manual)

If this is not how it is then some changes have to be made.

As far as I can see there are just two counters. One for MG and one for Cannon. If I click the button on my joystick that would cycle through the load out, nothing changes. So I'm thinking all the cannon rounds are lumped together.

Milo doesn't know what he's talking about, or is talking about the REAL plane in real life (which did have ammo counters).

In AH the cannons are linked both to the secondary trigger.

And you have a reading problem. :)

looks like you do this time...  :lol  he did say "or is talking about the REAL plane in real life (which did have ammo counters)".

to the op...the real 190a8 instrument panel had 4 ammo counters at the top left...there is one with a red outline that was for the mk108 rounds if the plane had the mk108s installed. the ammo counters used what looked like white sliders that would decrease as ammo was used.

It really would be nice to slave the 20mm and 13mm together as primary and leave the 30's alone as secondarys.   :pray

That would be better but having a counter for each would be ideal.

LOL, I said 'from the A-8 manual' which should have made it absolutely clear I was talking about the real a/c.

At no point in the discussion was this about the manual or the real plane. It was about in-game and the ammo counters we have. From the context you were totally off the wall, hence why I added that bit "or talking about the real plane"

From context you were way off topic or flat out wrong :)

In real 190's all 3 banks of guns could be fired alone, or together
Here's hoping!
The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

Just telling how the REAL a/c did it. Nothing more, nothing less krusty. :neener:

Steele, on the real (bolded so krusty doesn't get confused again) a/c there was one button (front of grip) that fired the cowl guns and the inner wing cannons. Another button (top of grip) fired the outer wing cannons. Press both to get all 6 guns firing.
