Karelia bugs (if any) post here
« on: June 04, 2011, 01:25:52 PM »
Was assigned to up A82. Spawned SE (SOUTH EAST) from tower and as soon as I spawned my engine and oil were destroyed on (I think) my #1 engine. I was in a 110G. I spawned inside a berm/bunker.

Spawning E had no problems. I towered and reupped.

It's a nice touch and all, but maybe trying to spawn planes in these tiny little berms doesn't take into account different shapes of different planes? Maybe make them spawn directly in FRONT of the berms/bunkers?

Report any other map bugs here if you ran across them.

good idea krusty...several people got ditch messages last night if they didn't land close to the middle of the field.

We had a downed pilot join as a gunner in a bomber.  Once the bomber was safely out of danger our gunner attempted to bail and could not.  So he stayed with the bomber until it towered thinking that would free him from his incarceration.  Only to find that as the bomber pilot towered it threw him out along the ground in his words "doing 700 mph" through the surrounding trees and countryside.  Once free of the bomber he could then end sortie.

Amusing all the same, no video of course.  But a bug I would say  :rofl

Viper that's an arena setting rather than a map issue. We had that in Rangoon Frame 3 this weekend as well. It was fixed by the CM present at the time. (the not being able to exit bit, not the pinball bit)

I've had that happen in another FSO setup, I cant remember which terrain.  I was gunning for a squaddie and when he was shot down I couldn't bail out, so I rode the plane into the ground.  I don't think it has to do with the terrain, but if it does, there is at least one other terrain with this problem that nobody else caught.

Is the whole field area inside the perimeter of the field safe for landing your sortie? Some of us taxied into the hanger to get a safe landing.

We weren't sure so we taxied to the middle of the field on that darker piece of ground and towered without issue.  I do remember someone on friendly text typing in that he had taxied back to the revetment and towered and got a "ditch".

I would hope that while trying to find a safe place to tower out that vulching does not commence.

Why wouldn't it?  Vulching in FSO is valid.  Frame 1 our squad was rearming at A87 - half flying cap while other half rearming.  Just as the first half was finishing on the ground, we engaged 3-4 baddies inside the dar ring.  I can only guess they were looking to vulch.  None got the chance to try.  :D

I had an observer on my second run.  When I got back, I hit the rearm pad and then towered.  From the tower, I saw his icon go flying across the ground (as described above).  He was practically underground racing through town and could not end sortie for quite sometime.  I believe he eventually Alt F4'd out.

Again, not sure based on above posts if that is a CM setup thing or if that is a bug but thought I should mention it.

I don't think he's decrying the vulching as much as worried about BEING vulched in the time it takes to find the sweet spot to land safely :)
