It's going to be a game targeted not towards the flight simmer but as someone pointed out, the mass gamer that wants quick instant action without having learn all that nasty stuff like BFM and ACM. It's going to be an arcade flight sim with a very relaxed physics model (think RR AW or Fighter Ace) wrapped in a very pretty eye candy wrapper to hide the fact it's an arcade flight sim. I know they are going to advertise it as a "realistic" flight sim but in reality, it's just going to be a MMO version of Wings of Prey and anyone that has played that game knows how *cough* realistic that flight model is. Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, WoP is from the same developers as Wings of Prey.
On a side note, Mad Catz has also thrown their hat into the MMO flight sim world, with their announcement of the creation of ThunderHawk Studios which will develop "War Wings: Hell Catz". Back in February, Mad Catz bought out V-Max Simulations that made flight sim software (Luftwaffe Commander, Sabre Ace, and Ultra Fighters) and reformed the studio under the ThunderHawk name. It's basically a marketing ploy to help sell their Saitek gear as the game will be fully optimized to take advantage of Saitek equipment while offering general and basic support for other game devices. Don't expect "War Wings: Hell Catz" to be anything spectacular, it's going to be an arcade flight sim as well, think of the Air Combat console games for an idea on how realistic the flight model is going to be.
