Another poor attempt by NASA to secure billions in funding in order to blow it all on astronauts doing laps around the earth.  It's just about all they've done with my hard earned money since we stopped going to the moon and I fail to see the point.  Although I am for having more space telescopes.

For every $1 you put into NASA, you get $8 back.  NASA has spurred an immense amount of R&D, and therefore stimulated new techonogies that we can all enjoy.  Doing laps?  Are you serious?  We don't know how to mitigate the very long term effects of space travel yet (for instance, how to keep you from becoming mush while in zero G).  It wouldn't do to send those who boldly go out into the great expanses of space without proper protection (although this may be biased- I plan to join NASA on my first day after college).

Have you ever considered that a previous civilization on Earth around 25,000 years ago could've had space travel and colonized Mars?  That civilization was wiped out from any possible reason and we're just now discovering artifacts.

Or, maybe someone or something survived from that civilization and they might want get angry at us squatters. :noid
