I would like to see Ports have more than one VH or have small airfields attached...they are far to easy to capture.  :salute

You know it would be cool if those few Ports out there that are actually Airfields when you get up close were like a second type of Port (a Large Port, if you will) that has both the docks and the parked ships that you see at the traditional Ports plus a small airstrip neighboring it that has your second VH and one or two FH's.

Enable planes on the cv at the port.

If you can't take off, you've selected the wrong plane or loadout.

This will allow certain planes to up...until the cv bombed down.

Ah, there you go. That's even better.

Only carrier planes, that makes sense.  That would be pretty cool.

Don't know what they did in the 40s but right now all planes take off the CV before it gets close to dock.

Right, it'd be more difficult to take planes off the carrier if it weren't moving, huh?

I don't know the exact reason why they do that but is it easier to take off when the CV is moving because you have extra 30kts (or what ever the speed of the CV is) of headwind and the CV can actually turn into the wind so you don't have to take off with a crosswind or tailwind. If you were to try taking off while the CV is at port there is only one direction you could take off, so technically there are other 359 other directions that the wind can be coming from.

My thinking is that only a couple of the lighter models with low fuel loads could successfully take off of the stationary cv so it wouldn't be a drastic change from the way it is now.

Enable all the regular cv planes but know that most won't be able to take off.

It's just a small change that can be tested without throwing off the arena mojo.

Or we can get sea planes...

i think ports should have more stationary ship activity. like a couple of ships right off shore that would act like ack platforms to provide support to the port.

maybe a couple of cruisers and 2 heavy cruisers? and all there guns would be manageable.
add that on to the cv plane idea.

I'd like to see ports that spawn multiple task groups, the other could be kept in reserve or used for extra offense.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to take command of a single ship within a task group and shoot up where he pleases.

When he releases control, the ship automatically seeks it's original position within the group.
