I think it would be cool if a platoon of infantry armed with bazookas could be carried in an M-3 that would engage enemy GV's as they come into range.

You might as have asked for a jeep with TOW missile capability.   :D

No, I'm thinking more along the lines of the M3 dropping auto-ack on the ground but instead it would be troops that would stay where they're dropped off and engage any enemy that comes within range of them.

They're called commandos in other sims and they had to be dialed back greatly from thier initial settings after much complaining in game.
