more cannons on my 190 and 110
« on: June 10, 2011, 12:16:32 PM »
can we add those under wing cannon packs for 190 and 110 they were used often enough and with 190 at 25 eny for its old 31 (i miss them days) it should have more firepower. from what ive read the packs would bring 190s 20mms to 6 and the 110s 20mms to 8. O and santa, i want a pby with 2 torps and a king tiger as well.

No 110 ever had 8 cannons.

The 190 did have underwing gunpods but they were very heavy and made the plane super slow. You would find your 190 barely able to fly in some cases. Forget any turn fighting (we are talking probably near 1000lbs for both gunpods).

There are a number of options the FW190 had in real life, and I would like to see these gunpods, but IMO they aren't necessary considering the outboard 2x 30mm on the 190A8 are far better than the 4x20mm the draggy gunpods provide.

Dont forget the even more superior quad 20mm option the 190A-8 already has.   ;)

I'd like to see the centerline 4/50kg bomb racks under the 190F-8 model.  It would be able to take 8/50kg bombs, or 12 Pb1 rockets and 4/50kg bombs.

While interesting, I find 50kg bombs all but useless in AH.

Let's add the Schragmusik guns while we're at it.

Also, I'd love it if they added the 190 D-11
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

With the 8/50kg, you can take out 2 separate OBJ with a lot less weight to the aircraft.  Choices, that is what it comes down to.  Might be good for de-acking too.

True.. although that's not what I think of when deacking because they slow you down and you have to drop from alt. Much easier to deack with cannons and higher speeds, zipping in and out etc.

I was thinking more against GVs, towns, hangars, ord/fuel/barracks on a field, etc. I guess you're right that it gives choices, but there exists already an option for a single centerline bomb already much more powerful than the 4x 50kg, and if you're dropping all the 4x50 on a single OBJ to bring it down.... might as well take the single bomb instead?

I sort of see 50kg as mean to be used 1 at a time, maybe 2 at a time. IMO if I have to pickle 4 or 8 at once to kill the target I took the wrong tool for the job. Nothing against it as a possible option, just not so useful.

109s could not carry 5x20mm. They already have gunpods. How do you think they get to a mere "3x20mm" already?

This site should tell you what 190 where put into service.

http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/variants.htm

If you want something for the 110, ask for these.
why have four when you can have six WGr 21

Look under the 110.

Nothing better to kill a bomber than a 37mm

Or kill a tank

Here is what i come with:

    Fw190D-9 - Jumo 213A, two fuselage mounted MG131's & two wing mounted MG151's
    Fw190D-9/R5 - fighter/bomber - two wing mounted SC50's and centrally mounted ordinance
    Fw190D-9/R11 - bad weather fighter
    Fw190D-10 - two prototypes - Jumo 213C-1 & single 30mm MK108
    Fw190D-11 - 20 built inc. 17 prototypes - Jumo 213F-1 c/w MW50 & two MG151 plus two MK108's mounted in the wings
    Fw190D-12 - 3 prototypes - Jumo 213F, two MG151/20 fuselage mounted
    Fw190D-13 - MG151/20 through the spinner
    Fw190D-13/R11 - 1 example - bad weather fighter
Fw190D-14 & D-15 - intended to be fitted with DB603, assembled as prototypes & rebuilt as part of the Ta152 project

You also have this site that i posted.

http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/variants.htm

Keep in mind that 190D-9 was the last of the 190D that had significant number push into action (between 1,500 -2,000). I believe that the D-9 had the option with two Mk-108s, but did not have the number that used them.  The only other 190Ds that have been produced was D-11. Only 16 (i think) where built with three that are confirmed to see action.  It was out fitted with two Mk-108s on the wings.  Neither the D-9 or D-11 had nose mounted 20mm or 30 mm but 13 mm.

Somebody correct me on this if i am wrong.
