The last Yak9T at V20 <<S>> InCrypt
« on: June 10, 2011, 11:23:33 PM »
Hahaha!!  I was hoping to be the first to post this.

5 190s had to have only BBs left.  They worked a fight on the deck against a Yak9T for about 5 minutes or more.  That was one of the more amazing fights I have ever seen.  That fight started getting attention from Allied guys whos evening ended quickly as more people came to watch the spectacle from the tower.

A big and hearty  :salute to InCrypt of VF15 for holding out as long as he could.  Out of ammo and parts slowly coming off his plane.  He managed to drag that fight out.  I believe people want to buy InCrypt T-Shirts now.

I don't know how he stayed alive and in that fight that long, but I have to say it is one of the best fights I have seen in this game to date.  Well flown.

Also, a big  :salute to the attack on V20.  That was really well carried out. The fighter sweep knocked out 2/3s of our force.  Then the 110s showed up and the rest of us met an untimely end to our Friday evening.

THAT is why I like FSO.  You never know how it works until it has been done to you!  Another lesson learned for planning purposes.  Axis did a great job tonight.  We never did see a 109G14 come to target though.   :headscratch:

InCrypt was probably distracted in the end by the wild cheering and exhortations from the peanut gallery! :aok

Truly one of the great efforts in AH chronicles.  <S>

Very nice. :) Anyone film it?

A few years back Harppa had a fight with some 109's over our field in FSO. The squad was cheering him on was we watched from the tower. Was a long fight and he took out the last 109. I think he landed a few that night.

I was able to record that encounter, and here it is...

InCrypts Last Stand

The clip is the last 14 minutes of my flight. It's at about T+50 Frame time, but I'll use T-14 to denote time till my shoot down at the hands of 5 enemy 190's. Best way I found to watch the film is on External View with the trails on. I left our sides com-chatter in the film. I just wish I could have heard the oppositions...

At T-14 you will hear the last four rag-tag elements of the VF-15 - which represents about 1/5 our original strength - call out contact with multiple high altitude Bogies. These contacts turn out to be the 110's that came in to obliterate our V-base. (An earlier enemy fighter sweep had effectively reduced us to 1/5 strength).
At T-7 You will see my last wingman, 1Wolf get shot down (Sorry buddy), leaving me in a 5 Vs. 1 Fight - the hard way. Thus begins my epic defensive fight against the 5 190's.
At about T-4 You will hear me call "Oh, Crap! I"m WINCHESTER!", indicating that I've run out of ammo.
At T-2 You'll hear me call that pieces are coming off my plane - it turns out to be an aileron.
At T-1:30 You'll hear me call out that my landing gear is out.
I never notice the fuel leak, and I didn't manage to get any radio transmissions out after my wing comes off. So, I crash to the ground in silence.

All in All, it was one tough 7 minute fight, where I was surrounded in a luff-berry and unable to get away as each 190 successfully kept me pinned with swiping attacks. I can only surmise that they were out of canons, and that the Russian Yak-9T is one tough bird. Only these two things can explain how I lasted so long. But eventually, or inevitably I dare say, I died a death of a thousand cuts. Was a good fight guys, and I <<S>> you!

Heh.  Finally got my account up.

Nice flyin InCrypt.

I was one of the 190's that was trying to catch the last minnow in the bait tank.

I appreciate the chute trying to help and the tower cheerleaders, as we were equally amused on the chasing end.

There were no calls of cheat.  We know when we can't hit a barn.  There are a few laughs as we struggled.  In this case the barn was small and slick.

Edit: I'll post vid when I figure out how.
I've got the vid from our side.  pretty funny, only quiet commentary with frustration towards the end.

No calls of cheating as predicted earlier in the thread.   :neener:

Was fun from both sides.

Heh.  It is true.  We did fill the bleachers with dead yaks to watch the last yak do a seductive dance.

Thank you all!

Assi29, I'm really interested in seeing the video from your side. So Yeah, you'll need to 1) trim the video down to a reasonable size. 2) Find someplace to host the file (I used my Freewebs account I created years ago, but you might find a free FTP) 3) Post in here with a link to your file.

Can't wait to see it!

Oh man was that too funny! I was rolling on the floor laughing as I watched it. That was great, thanks for the film. I never knew that one of your guys had to bug out becasue he was BINGO.

I don't feel bad at all about dieing that night, I think I held my own.  :rock My only lament was that I didn't have enough ammo to take at least one of you with me.   :frown: LOL.

Have a good one, and guys watch out if I get a decent plane this next frame!   :pray

It was a classic engagement.

The only problem with it was that you made Shegotya frustrated on her 44th birthday.  That was kind of tasteless in my book.

Other than that,  :salute
