I wouldn't normally quote Nietzsche but I ran across this today and it seems apropos.

People like you are why the Stolen Valor Act was created. While you probably havent tried to wear a uniform or anything like that, I still dont see the need to pat you on the back for telling the truth. You got busted plain and simple, and I along with many others never believed you in the first place. "Pretending" to be in the Armed Forces is about as low as a person can get.

Actually this has nothing to do with the Stolen Valor Act, and is not what it was designed to do. Please feel free to look up the wording of the act if you want factual information on this act.
Yea, simply because I can

I want to say I made a mistake a few years back, given over 3 years ago I made the claim I was a pilot in the marine corp that flew Fa-18s. This is completely untrue. In all honesty I never served in the marine corps period, and I was never in fact a military pilot. I spoken to someone tonight I feel I respect quite dearly which was Ink from the army of muppets, and although I did try to apologize over the years I did not make it formal, in another words to people I felt were in my opinion desired. What I did was completely selfish, and I absolutely do not wish for sympathy from anyone.

My biggest sorrow is I am nothing more than a Liar, and I will deeply regret what I have done.

Oh yeah, I remember that..we all knew it wasn't true..LOL

Butcher (Adonai) your jet thread was awesome! Everyone knew it was B.S. yet you fought on.  It was like watching animal planet to see the orcas toss a seal around before eating it.  Every time I was around you in the MA you were great to fly with.  You are setting a standard here! Next thing you know ASSI will be begging for forgiveness to get his BBS account back.  :devil

I am still trying to recover from this.   I cannot believe that some one in this game is not really what he said he was  :O

He already knows what folks think of him. He even stated it himself. There's no faulting you for missing that though.
I don't think he was looking for pats on the back. I think he was wanting to clear his own conscience.
Any "pats on the back" here are for what he is doing now.... not what he did in the past.

I missed nothing. He deserves to take the bad with the good. And if he wants forgiveness so bad then perhaps he should stop lying about not having played the game before as well. Seems to be a pattern here.

Pretty much. Seems like a ploy for attention given the need to set up a background story for "Butcher". You can can get away with a lot here by just changing your name and moving on from it.

I also tend to believe this is the reason for the post.

Anyone can say I'm sorry, especially on the internet, it's proving it that's the hard part.
Fear? You bet your life...but that all leaves you as you reach combat. Then there's a sense of great excitement, a thrill you can't duplicate anywhere...it's actually fun. Yes, I think it is the most exciting fun in the world. — Lt. Col. Robert B. "Westy" Westbrook, USAAF 6/<--lol@mod

So what would you have him do to prove it?

This oughta' do...

Butcher, you have to join the Corps and fly F/A-18's, that's the only way to make up for it.
