I would like to see some voice acting in Aces High. For instance, while in the tower you'd hear the occaisional chatter on the radio, or while in the O'Club one would hear the drunken rantings of a pilot. At the HQ, if there were no noise, one would hear sounds recorded from a regular day at the office at HTC. At the farm, one would hear loud bleating accompanied by the deranged laughter of a redneck. The check six call could also use work, as HiTech's deep, booming voice doesn't quite fit the context of World War II aviation.
The one that confuses me the most is "Base Under Attack". It would seem that having a British woman do the part would be more historically accurate (the Battle of Britain was one of the greatest triumphs of radar) while still preserving comprehensibility (i.e., few among us speak Russian or German).
Furthermore, just general ambient noises would be nice- such as a recording of waves washing up on the shore while near the water, the clanking of machinery near factories, and the banter of field crews at airfields. In towns not under attack, one would hear merchants selling their wares, children running through the streets, and old people making their old people noises. Whilst under attack, one hear nothing but a few whimpers, but screams if the player were to shoot the building with a machinegun. Currently, AH is a silent wasteland, and is very eerie for those who explore it while in a vehicle.
