Standardize Defensive Gunners on Bombers
« on: June 22, 2011, 01:32:41 PM »
It would be nice to know that every time I hit #2 that I'd hop into the tail gun, #3 I'd man the front gun, #4 the top turret, #5 the ball turret, #6/7 the wast gunners, etc.

I know some aircraft fall out of alignment with that request since they do not match exactly that pattern (Ju88, TBM, etc), but they would be the exception.  Right now, it appears that there is not much standardization.

Thoughts?

+1, if a plane doesn't have waist gunners for example just leave that number key empty
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

It would take some effort to re-learn the key combos, but would definitely be worth it.

My thoughts too.

In the case of the Ju88, I'd apply the R/L waist gun #'s to the rear facing guns.

Many years ago I posted such a request, including what I thought was the most comprehensive unified scheme.  It is something that would be helpful to the ability to fly different bombers.

I can understand indifference, but I'm curious what makes you like them.

Also like the idea of making them programable/assignable, and by standardizing, it would help this happen.
