Question for the flight engineers among us.

By squaring off the ends of the Spits wings, what happens? Is it a trade off for roll rate versus stability? Speed? High speed handling? Low speed handling?

Just wondering.

Clipped wing spits allow for better rate of roll and better handling in high speed dives. Trade off is a higher wing load, which often results in a reduction in turn rate and higher stall speed.
