Considering where you live (and having spent 14 years there, I know full well), you need all the sun you can get. :D

Disregarding the glare from the sun the apparent size of the sun and moon from the Earth are roughly the same.  Offishual sounding stuff from the Internets:

The sun’s diameter is about 400 times larger than that of the moon – the sun is also about 400 times farther away. So the sun and moon appear nearly the same size as seen from Earth.

+1 Get rid of the sun  :D

Getting rid of it for an hour a day (for night flying) would be nice.

It use to be people just asking for sunglasses.. now it's get rid of the sun because it's too bright and people still can't figure out how to not flight straight at it to avoid the glare.... (Except for Ultra-Sun that passes through the tallest mountains and the widest prairies! That should be toned down a tad.)

I say we get rid of gravity because it's annoying, and speed limits.. I mean I hate no being able to catch faster objects. Oh! and the worst by far is getting shot down.. so let's remove the lethality of the ammo and just give points for hits!!!   :aok

Gents, stop asking for the sun to go bye-bye.  We already have no wind, no rain, no down-draft, no sand storms, no thunderclouds, etc etc.  EMBRACE the sun!  If you are not using it to your advantage then you are missing the point!   :D

In one of my terrains I replaced the moon with saturn. Came out pretty cool looking. Sometime I'm going to make a Star Wars type offline mission using 262s on an alien terrain where ill replace those kinds of things for visual effect.

I wish they would have wind in the MA's.  Why not have a 5-10mph wind speed in certain directions and then rotate the driections just like they do with the sun???  Heaven forbid if there is another added inch in the mile long learning curve in AH.  :)

For someone that lives in a region of the world where they get sunlight 24 hours a day during certain months of the year, I am shocked at your disdain for the Sun.

maybe greens just sees it for such a long period of time, it would be nice for them to NOT have some sunlight during that period of time.

Doesn't that counter balance the time of year where Alaska is spent in almost 24 hour a day darkness?  :headscratch:

The brightness is an integral part of the game.  the size of the sun... well... if it is only a visual annoyance, then really it isnt a big deal.

I kinda wish the sun did not shine through the mountains AND that those mountains that are in Looshy's pictures produced a shadow, but I dont know how taxing those large shadows would be on the game or player's computers.

Personally I find the suns effects to be very similar to the real thing inasmuch as when I am flying in its direction for any length of time and dont adjust my position so the cockpit frame doesnt block it. I get the exact same splitting headache I get when looking in the direction of the real thing for extended periods.

That being said. I still wish it would stop shining through things it should never shine through. Like the clipboard for example and in particular.
