« on: July 02, 2011, 11:26:20 AM »
SSgt Tim Chambers is back, and for those of you who do not know who I am talking about here is the original video....

Here is the story from the local news channel

:salute SSgt Chambers and keep up the great work, 3.5 hours at the position of attention, show great mettle and worse yet with a broken wrist.

Penquin he stood tall for 3 1/2 hours straight ..no breaks. He did have a member of the parade audience come out a couple of times to give him water and aspirin for his broken wrist but  other than that he was there the whole time.

Oof, that's rough.  It seems strange that he didn't volunteer for another position, given his injury.

Why not do it next year instead?  He'd have saved himself a great deal of pain and let his wrist heal, while noone has to feel guilty that he's in so much pain.

You know things that today's youth know almost nothing about.  My hat's off to the SSgt.  I can't imagine 3½ hours at attention in class A, let alone blues. :salute

I still don't see why.  It's not like there aren't other volunteers.  It's a win-win-win.  Another guy gets to do it, too, your wrist heals, and the parade still has a guy to salute.

your not understanding. he has pride in his country, respect for those serving, Service for his country before his well being. pain is temporary, pride is forever. pain is mental. you block out the pain of something and you can go far in times of need/want
