Was only 15 mins IIRC.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

Would be nice to have AH3.  AH2 is looking kinda dated.

Night with day fighters is absolutely ridiculous. The majority spoke when they tried it before and we all logged en masse. It'd be nice if this subject could just get dropped. Not a thing has changed since the great failed experiment with night happened I dunno how many years ago so I don't see what would be worth repeating. Trust me (and many others that were actually here) it sucked. Serious. All that was accomplished were some very dark, very empty arenas. And what with these trying economic times---we don't need anything that rhymes wid dat! Sayin.

Don't get me wrong as I've said it before. If there was some way or making a playable night fighter arena complete with radars both on the ground with sector controllers and in the planes and with some way of seeing in the pitch dark once things got to within "visual" range then I'd be willing to give it a shot. I've read accounts of night fighter ops on the german side and it sounded really interesting and really challenging so I'd be all over it. But let's face it guys--that day isn't here. Not only are there no true night fighters, there is no airborne radar in our planes. Additionally, the graphics and monitors of today still aren't capable of displaying the ammount of detail--in mostly dark--what you'd need to have to do this anywhere near realistically. Can you imagine the shades of black you'd have to display to simulate night really? Those that might suggest turning up the gamma are only agreeing with me. If ya want night then don't turn your gamma up. If you're turnin your gamma up then you really don't want night then do ya? If you're just lookin to sneak into a base on the deck unseen--then you're really just lookin for easy points aren't ya? Heck ya could do that offline.

I miss the night time we used to have, granted it was a little too long.
Would love to see it back say for 30 mins every couple of hours.

Several of us who WERE here - including the OP - are just saying it was nice and we WISH we could have it back. It's not like we're on here DEMANDING it be put back in like a bunch of little twa-- ...girls did when they changed the vehicle movement setup.

And before someone looks at my forum date and accuses me of not being here - I've played under many names and never had need to use the forum.

and some other old names that I can't recall atm lol.

I was there too.  I logged.  It was stupid.  Bright neon icons in the inky blackness totally not good.  Just saying.

If I log on and find the arena at dawn/dusk I just log right away.  If I were HT I would put the damned sun at high noon and just leave it there.  Optimum combat flight conditions - bright blue sky, although clouds are ok.

Not that it matters.....

What is stupid to one might not be to others. Like I said, we're not really demanding night back. I liked it. Night time buff missions were a blast.

man hate for y'all to work any harder for a kill.

I play Rise of Flight on the side and you never know how its gunna look in there, might be right at dawn with the sun in your face, could be right at dusk, might be snowin, maybe even raining.
learned real quick to fly around it. Makes it all the more interesting, I would love to see a rain storm (no lighting of course) cover a group of bombers on the way to a target/obscure bases.
add a bit of a dynamic environment. and of course you can always wuss out and log/turn your gamma up hate for the game to get too difficult.

Exactly. All these  :cry get upset because it was something that made the game harder for them.

"Optimum combat flight conditions - bright blue sky"

Everyone on here screams bloody murder that they love this game due to its realistic feel. Weather and night are all a part of that....then again they just say that I think to kiss....well you get the idea.

it's not that we hated the night, it is that we found out most players that stayed were just changing their gamma to make it look like day.  I found out when I started that I was basically the only one flying literally in the dark and everybody around me had the gamma up.  but since the gamma is hard on your eyes, you couldnt play for long.

so the so called "night' was just a joke, just that simple.

That's right, because not a single one of us who didn't like night used the reasoning of the arena emptying... or maybe...

it was because of this. It was for me anyway, but maybe I am wrong about my own reasons. Guide me on my own thoughts please!  :D

Well said, Marine.

:aok +1 to REALISTIC night-time buff raids... after all, because
Night with day fighters is absolutely ridiculous.
then daytime raids with Lancasters is absolutely ridiculous, too, right?

I look at it this way.

If the other pilots suck so hard that they would rather turn the gamma up to try and get an unfair advantage - then that just means I'm obviously a more rounded gamer.

I can do what they can not - and in most cases - destroy them and send a spiraling POS to the deck leaving a trail of flame that makes my heart smile.

It's just like killing a hacker in an FPS game. I show them that he sucks so bad at real life that he spends most of his time gaming....which he ALSO sucks at, so he has a program do it for him...and I STILL kick his butt.

I prefer a hard fight. I like it when the enemy has the upper hand. Maybe that's the Marine in me...or the fact that I know NOT having a challenge is boring....

meh - you tell me.
