Illegal here in hawaii (And unfortunately I went home for the summer...) but the army puts on a pretty cool display at Schofield Barracks I'll be going to after ignoring a few trespassing signs to go on the most amazing hike in the state...
Have fun, and be careful  :lol All the cities in my area usually throw off a fireworks bonanza on the 3rd and 4th so I went to one tonight, it was awesome, then tomorrow we have a ton of fountains, plus a family reunion, its going to be chaos.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

*pet peeve rant*

It's called INDEPENDENCE DAY!

I don't know why people call this particular holiday by it's calender date instead of proper name but it's always bugged me.   People don't go around saying "Merry twenty-fifth of December!" or "What did you get the wife for the fourteenth of February?"

*pet peeve rant over*

Anyway hope everyone had a great INDEPENDENCE DAY, and took some time to be grateful for what it means.

Why July 4th is NOT exactly the day of US Independence.  [Warning:  A little history lesson follows.]

"The 4th of July, American Independence Day, celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, which declared US Independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. But technically speaking, July 4th doesn't qualify to be the US Independence day."

Happy Independence Day!!!!!

A small quote from President Whitmore

Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
